Jul 4, 2008Yoshika Miyafuji rescues a cat, impressing friend Michiko Yamakawa, who is later injured when a dog crashes their wagon. Yoshika uses magic healing to save her, attracting the attention of Mio Sakamoto. Mio invites Yoshika to join the special aerial infantry fighting the mysterious Neuroi. Yoshika declines until receiving a letter from her deceased father, Ichiro Miyafuji. She then boards the aircraft carrier Akagi with Mio. The ship is subsequently ambushed by a surprise Neuroi attack, forcing Yoshika to confront the enemy forces directly.

Before she can gather more information, a strange mech employing similar technology arrives and destroys the Neuroi. Yoshika returns to base, only to find the Witches surrounded by military soldiers.

Sep 12, 2008General Trevor Maloney orchestrates a military mutiny, ordering the dissolution of the Strike Witches and deploying a mech named Warlock, which Yoshika identifies from Neuroi visions. Consequently, the Neuroi nest in Gallia vanishes, and the 501st Joint Fighter Wing officially disbands. However, the narrative continues six months later, hinting at future developments for the characters involved in the conflict.
