Sara suffers trauma and discovers she is pregnant after Sis accepts Shu and Lala-Ru at the orphanage. A faction member informs Elamba that Zari-Bars holds a secret weapon capable of destroying Hellywood. Sis describes the ancient Lala-Ru as a lonely child. Despair drives Sara to attempt suicide at the head spring, but Shu painfully intervenes to save her. The following morning, Shu and Lala-Ru prepare to depart Zari-Bars. Elamba intends to use Lala-Ru as collateral to negotiate with Hellywood. A soldier spy fails to persuade Sara to flee the village before Hellywood invades.
