Tabool informs Shu of his potential death sentence and reveals events concerning Sara. Remembering his promise to save Lala-Ru, Shu locates a pendant in an underground cell. With Boo's assistance, he breaks out of prison and evades male soldiers. Shu finds Lala-Ru with Hamdo in a greenhouse, shattering glass to return the pendant, but Abelia shoots him in the arm. Lala-Ru activates her powers via the pendant, flooding the fortress with water to facilitate their escape. While hiding in a cavern, Shu is discovered by Nabuca. Shu urges Nabuca to join him to prevent further bloodshed, but Nabuca declines. However, he allows Shu to escape to repay a past debt of being saved by him.
