Shu and Lala-Ru reach the village of Zari-Bars and meet Sis, who operates an orphanage. To prevent complications, Shu must hide Lala-Ru's true identity from Sis. She permits them to stay in exchange for laboring in the fields alongside the other children. That night, Soon expresses longing for her father, unaware he was an assailant killed in Hellywood. Additionally, Elamba reveals to Shu that the Hellywood army murdered his entire family, explaining his desire to assassinate Hamdo. Overwhelmed by this information, Shu becomes perplexed and begins to cry when Lala-Ru visits him.
