Bankotsu, the leader of the Band of Seven, commands Kohaku to deliver a letter demanding the return of his halberd, which is protected within a castle. At the same time, Inuyasha and his companions struggle to find a way through the barrier surrounding Mount Hakurei. Bankotsu launches an attack on the castle, successfully retrieves his weapon, and kills the warlords guarding it. Inuyasha eventually arrives at the scene and engages in a confrontation with Bankotsu.
