Shippo informs Inuyasha that his friends have been captured. After fighting off the soldiers, Inuyasha realizes Kagura tricked him. The Infant commands Kagura to insert a corrupted Shikon Jewel shard into Kagome. Although Kagome regains mental control, her body remains under influence. She must confront her resentment toward Kikyo. Inuyasha and the group locate her and question the Infant, identifying him as the human heart of Naraku. The Infant escapes after repelling Inuyasha’s attack. Inuyasha subsequently recognizes how his intense feelings for Kikyo endanger Kagome.
