Ep. 145: Inuyasha and companions face stone guardians at the Netherworld gate
Aired on March 8, 2004

145
Inuyasha and his companions follow the Saimyoushou to the Mountain in the Realm of Fire, where they encounter Gozu and Mezu, giant stone statues guarding the Netherworld gate. Since only the deceased may pass, Inuyasha struggles against the guardians' attacks. The group realizes that forcing the gate open with the Wind Scar is the only way to revert Gozu and Mezu to stone. Kagura attempts to enter but is stopped when her demon army is petrified by the blinding light beyond the gate, causing the statues to close and return to stone. Kagome informs the group that a Shikon Jewel shard lies beyond the gate. Meanwhile, Kagura returns to Hakudoshi, furious, though she remains under his control because he possesses her heart.
