Ep. 15: Kaname Takasato's mysterious journey and the legend of Taiki unfold on Mount Hou.
Aired on September 3, 2002

Kaname Takasato, a young boy punished by his grandmother, falls in the cold and wakes up at her funeral one year later. Sugimoto learns Kaname has visited the Twelve Kingdoms and seeks more information. Meanwhile, Keiki and Yoko, soon to be Queen Kei, travel to Mount Hou. At Keiki’s childhood home, Youka recounts the story of Taiki, who was blown to Japan by a shoku before his ranka hatched. His nyokai, Sanshi, searched for him for ten years until Lady Gyokuyou found the boy, allowing Sanshi to bring him back to Mount Hou. This episode connects Kaname’s sudden displacement with the historical tale of Taiki’s rescue and return.
