Ep. 22: The Firebird Versus the Fire-Eating Dragon
A mecha named Kingdragon attacks a deep-sea uranium factory, defeating a guard vessel superior to the God Phoenix. Although Nambu forbids deployment, Ken disobeys and engages the enemy alone. The God Phoenix is overwhelmed, and its firebird weapon fails against the mecha's intense heat. Nambu orders the Red Impulse group to intervene, but their commander refuses, insisting Ken must fight again. Nambu devises a plan to install a cooling device in the God Phoenix to react with a minus bomb inside the enemy. Ken volunteers for the dangerous mission, hiding among tuna to infiltrate the mecha. He places the bomb but cannot escape as the craft freezes. The team worries until Ken emerges from a crack in the frozen machine, appearing like an immortal bird.
