Ranmaru arrives to retrieve staff, while Ougan-douji demands Ginji’s return after his 50-year tenure at Tenjin-ya expires. Ginji complies, wearing his old mask and deepening Aoi’s suspicion that he is her childhood Ayakashi. When Aoi attempts to rescue Ginji by holding Nobunaga hostage, Ougan-douji casts a spell on her, triggering flashbacks of Tenjin-ya. Aoi is subsequently kidnapped, her Tengu fan confiscated, and Odanna prevented from intervening. Ranmaru threatens to display her as the famous Ogre Bride and granddaughter of Shiro. Ginji protects Aoi from Ranmaru as they finally reach Orio-ya.
