Aoi worries about cooking without fresh ingredients until a fish delivery suggests Odanna’s involvement. At Tenjin-ya, staff maintain Moonflower while Byakuya notes Odanna’s absence since Aoi’s kidnapping. Harassed by Orio-ya staff, Aoi meets a masked Ayakashi revealed to be Odanna, who offers escape but she refuses to leave Ginji. Odanna explains Ginji is preparing for a century-firework ceremony to fight a land curse, using Aoi to keep Matsuba. He enchants her ogre necklace. Black and White Crane twins Kai and Mei ask Aoi to cook for Yodoko, a Rain Woman whose anger causes rain. Aoi prepares Monjayaki for the spoiled guest who knows Moonflower. She also meets a young boy hired by Ranmaru, realizing Ranmaru cares for the South.
