Ep. 19: Aoi aids injured Ginji and Ranmaru while uncovering the history of the Dragon Palace curse.
Aired on August 6, 2018

Ranmaru meets Raiju, a lightning Ayakashi, while Hatori warns Aoi about his danger. Aoi discovers Ginji injured by miasma at a shrine built by Princess Iso, a mermaid descendant who raised them. She heals Ginji, who explains the difficulty of finding a mermaid scale due to their near-extinction and the cursed Dragon Palace. The narrative reveals that Princess Iso trapped the gentle Umi-bouzo miasma 300 years ago to save the Southern Land after a failed ceremony. Ranmaru, obsessed with Ougan-douji’s success, later arrives at the shrine covered in miasma. Aoi heals him again, but he manipulates her into retrieving the scale, promising to let Ginji return to Tenjin-ya if she succeeds. Odanna accompanies Aoi on this quest.
