With the hotel isolated by swamp and accessible only by train, Akechi reveals that magician Reiko Chikamiya died five years prior at this venue, leading to the creation of the Living Puppet act. Childe Yurama assumes leadership of the Fantasy Magic Team, provoking Yumi Yamagami. Hajime sabotages the drawbridge mechanism before the performance begins. During the show, Hajime receives a call from the Puppet Master, and a blackout reveals Yurama’s body has replaced the puppet. Hajime deduces the killer remains on the island since the bridge is intact. Later, a clown-masked figure abducts Myuki. Hajime pursues the abductor but becomes trapped in the swamp and sinks beneath the surface.
