Miyuki persuades Hajime to travel to a Hokkaido village for a TV production. They stay at Isen Himuro’s villa and use a mini-van to reach an annex across the river, now a 20 minute drive away due to a collapsed bridge. Upon returning, they encounter Kenmochi and Akechi, whose vehicle broke down. While monitoring remote footage, a Snow Demon appears and kills actress Rie Kano with an axe before destroying the camera. Villagers recount a legend about a trafficked woman who cursed the area after her baby died during a storm. Assistant Marina Ayatsuji later finds cameraman Michio Akashi’s body stuffed inside a snowman. Akeshi determines Akashi was killed before Kano, proving he could not be the murderer.
