Ep. 9: Mirai confronts Akihito's youmu form while Izumi manipulates events and Hiroomi uncovers a shocking truth.
Mirai finds Akihito transformed at the Shindou shop, while Izumi fights Miroku and Hiroomi battles a giant youmu. Izumi later attacks Akihito before escaping. The group reunites at Akihito's apartment, where Mirai explains that the Calm weakened his human half, allowing the youmu side to emerge. Izumi suggests Mirai kill Akihito while his immortality is nullified. Hiroomi questions Izumi's motives, suspecting she manipulated Mirai and weakened Akihito with her freezing barrier. Izumi warns him about the Society instead. Hiroomi searches the Nase family archives and discovers Akihito's youmu half is Beyond the Boundary. Meanwhile, Miroku steals the Hollow Shadow's stone. Mirai tracks Akihito to a forest under silver rainclouds, engaging in a fierce battle that leaves him severely wounded. Heartbroken, Mirai prepares to deliver the fatal blow.
