He retaliates by sabotaging a new speedway opening and creating massive traffic jams in the adjacent city. Additionally, he hires three incompetent thugs to damage Pops Racer's shop. Speed and Sparky easily overpower these attackers. The group then discovers that Janine and Trixie are testing a new vehicle, which has had its brakes sabotaged by one of the hired men. This act of destruction stems directly from the father's hatred of cars and his desire to prevent Janine from pursuing her interest in racing.

Oct 1, 1967A criminal hijacks the Mach 5 during the Monte Carlo Rally. Speed identifies the man as famous gambler Mr. Fastbucks but lacks proof. Upon confrontation, Mr. Fastbucks reveals his master plan: he has purchased coal and train companies and intends to destroy global gas supplies to become fabulously rich. However, the plan backfires, and it is Mr. Fastbucks who gets blown up instead.
EP 28Speed Racer faces tests to save Trixie from Calcia's Cleopatra delusion in Egypt.
Oct 8, 1967In Egypt, Speed Racer meets dying scientist Digger O. Bone, who asks him to care for his daughter Calcia. Calcia, having hit her head, believes she is Cleopatra. Under the influence of Splint Femur, she kidnaps Trixie and threatens her life. Speed must complete a series of dangerous challenges to rescue her. These tests include fighting lions and guards in a gladiator arena and retrieving a statue from the top of a pyramid. He must race against time to succeed in these tasks and save Trixie from Calcia's captivity.

During a conflict, Force reveals he wears a metal brace on his right arm because gangsters crippled it after he refused to throw a race. To help his arm recover, Speed challenges Force to drive the Mach 5 with a manual transmission. Force wins the next day's race, but the gangsters expose his disability. Force punches them out using his right arm, proving it has fully healed. The racing official reprimands the liars, and Speed vows to defeat Rock Force in their next meeting.

The pair manages to escape, triggering a violent confrontation. A fatal shootout and fire ensue, resulting in the defeat of Stencher and his gang. Lamster is severely injured during the conflict. As he nears death, he expresses a final wish for an operation to donate his eyes to his daughter, hoping to restore her vision.

Dec 24, 1967Following Speed’s rescue of President Montebank from an assassination attempt, he is invited to the vice-president’s residence a few days later. There, the assassins incapacitate Speed, and one uses a Speed Racer face mask to transport him and the Mach 5 to a remote location before pushing them over a cliff. Speed subsequently fakes his own death. The assassins then attempt to target President Montebank again, but Speed and Racer X intervene to defeat the gang of assassins.
