The Compass Pointed to the Darkness
Jul 6, 2022In the distant past, Vueko joins Wazukyan and Belaf’s Ganja expedition to find the Golden City, trading her compass for guidance from a native tribe and accepting an exiled girl as their guide. They navigate the Abyss, battling monsters and learning of the Curse until reaching a transport pod at the Ido Front in the fifth layer. In the present, Riko, Reg, and Nanachi activate this pod using Riko’s White Whistle, descending through the bone-filled Sea of Corpses. Reg advises Riko to use the pod’s facilities during the long journey. Upon arriving at the sixth layer, the trio exits the pod and steps into the Capital of the Unreturned, beginning their exploration of this new, dangerous environment.

Jul 13, 2022Riko, Reg, and Nanachi explore the sixth layer, a hot desert environment filled with ruins and dangerous wildlife. Riko tries to send a mail balloon to the surface, but it is intercepted by flying creatures. A mysterious being observes them silently. The next day, Riko discovers her White Whistle is missing. Nanachi finds clues indicating the thief recovered the balloon and entered their camp unnoticed. Reg follows the scent to a large structure protected by a force field that repels the Curse. The trio enters the structure while the observer watches. Inside, they find a village inhabited by Hollows. A Hollow named Majikaja greets them and agrees to help them retrieve the stolen White Whistle.

Jul 20, 2022Majikaja modifies Riko's White Whistle to unlock its full potential and introduces the group to a village shielded from curses, where Hollows are confined and society operates on a trade of value. When a Hollow injures Meinya, the village's defense system seizes the creature's organs and belongings to compensate Riko. She uses this acquired value to rent an inn but suffers food poisoning. Reg and Nanachi observe a disturbance as Majikaja reveals Faputa, the Princess of Hollows, has arrived at the village perimeter. Understanding Faputa delivered the whistle, Reg proceeds to the entrance and meets her alongside her robotic companion. In a separate timeline, the Ganja encounter welcoming robotic beings in the sixth layer before one is consumed by a monster. Vueko concludes that reaching the Golden City does not guarantee their safety.

Reg recalls Faputa before returning to village amid falling nameplates
Jul 27, 2022Faputa abducts Reg, hurt that he does not remember her and jealous of Riko. Reg leaves for the village, witnessing falling nameplates from Orth that spark curiosity about the surface. Back in the village, Riko recovers from food poisoning and searches for Reg and Nanachi. After Hollows target her Meinya, a Hollow accidentally saves her, leading Riko to befriend and name it Maaa. They visit a restaurant where Riko meets the Hollow version of Wazukyan. Meanwhile, Nanachi learns from Majikaja that Belaf holds Mitty captive. She travels to Belaf's lair and is shocked to find Mitty alive and well. Elsewhere, Vueko appears imprisoned alongside several incomplete Hollows.

Reg navigates monster attacks while Riko uncovers Iruburu's dark history and Nanachi's captivity.
Aug 3, 2022Reg becomes lost and attacked by monsters on his way back to the village, but is rescued by an Interference Unit robot designed for Abyss data collection. Although the unit lacks data on Reg's model, it guides him to Iruburu. Meanwhile, Riko speaks with Wazukyan, discovering he is one of the Three Sages who founded Iruburu. Riko then explores a cave avoided by Hollows, where she encounters Vueko, a woman imprisoned for opposing the village's establishment due to its sinister origins. Riko frees Vueko, who leads her to Belaf’s residence. There, Riko learns that Nanachi traded her freedom to Belaf to protect Mitty from being used as food. Belaf reveals he once created a perfect copy of Mitty after Bondrewd brought her to Iruburu, sacrificing part of his body in the process. He demands Riko surrender both eyes, both legs, or half her intestines to secure their freedom.

Aug 10, 2022Riko is halted from trading by Majikaja and Maaa while attempting to rescue Nanachi. A monster attacks the village during the Luring ritual, forcing residents to lure creatures inside since they cannot hunt outside. Riko recovers her White Whistle, which transforms into its true form, and traps the beast after Moogie warns her to stay away. The situation worsens as the monster injures Maaa. Encouraged by Prushka’s spirit, Riko blows the whistle to summon Reg, who powers up and defeats the creature. Wazukyan congratulates them and suggests trading a piece of Faputa for Nanachi’s freedom. Later, Moogie and Majikaja question Vueko’s presence, leading her to reveal she is one of the original Three Sages who founded Iruburu. She agrees to share the history of Faputa and the village, noting Wazukyan’s fear of Reg’s power.

Aug 17, 2022Vueko narrates her time with Ganja after reaching the Sixth Layer, where they adapt to life without returning to the surface. She bonds with Irumyuui, a young tribe girl exiled for infertility. The group thrives until they fall ill from drinking parasitic pseudowater. Wazukyan discovers a dead survey team holding the Cradle of Desire, a Relic granting wishes but causing deformation, especially in children. The Sages give the artifact to Irumyuui to save everyone. She recovers but deforms further, eventually giving birth to organless creatures that die quickly. She suffers daily grief from losing these children. Vueko is healed by Wazukyan’s broth, only to realize she consumed Irumyuui’s dead offspring, fulfilling the wish that saved the group.

Aug 24, 2022Reg asks Faputa for a body part to secure Nanachi's freedom, receiving an arm in exchange for a promise to destroy Iruburu. Flashbacks reveal Irumyuui's mutation and exploitation by Wazukyan, who used a second Cradle of Desire to breed her. After Belaf sacrifices himself to become a Hollow, the Ganja transform, forming Iruburu. Vueko attempts suicide but is imprisoned within Irumyuui's head to care for deceased children. Irumyuui births Faputa from her despair. Vueko explains Faputa's destructive nature stems from Irumyuui's wishes, and when Riko asks about her own desire, Vueko states she simply wishes not to forget Irumyuui.

Reg Returns with Faputa's Arm and Uses Incinerator to Breach Village Barrier
Aug 31, 2022Reg brings Faputa's severed arm to the village, revealing his promise to use his Incinerator to destroy the protective shield so she can enter. Upon reuniting with Riko, Wazukyan arrives to offer congratulations. Riko suspects that Wazukyan and the other villagers secretly wish to leave the village to explore the Abyss further, believing he is manipulating Riko to use a Cradle of Desire to grant this wish. Their discussion is interrupted when the village guardian, Juroimoh, awakens to seize the arm. Wazukyan kidnaps Vueko, forcing Reg to battle Juroimoh alone. Overwhelmed, Reg activates his Incinerator, which disables the guardian and creates an opening in the barrier. This allows Faputa to enter and attack the villagers. Meanwhile, Nanachi wakes up, and Belaf informs her of Faputa's arrival.

Sep 7, 2022Nanachi awakens with Belaf’s memories of Faputa, having been chosen to inherit them. Belaf frees Nanachi and Mitty from his service, but the village barrier is breached, allowing the Curse to kill any villager who touches it. Because this Mitty is a copy created by Iruburu, Nanachi must say goodbye as she dies, then departs to find Riko and Reg. Meanwhile, Reg wakes from a coma to discover Faputa has slaughtered many villagers. Riko urges Reg to stop her rampage, leading to a confrontation. Faputa, hurt by Reg breaking his promise, attacks him. During the battle, Reg recalls their first meeting and his promise to help her enter the village in exchange for an adventure later. Hesitating due to vague memories, Reg asks her to stop again, but Faputa seizes the moment to strike him.

Sep 14, 2022Faputa knocks out Reg and attempts to harm Riko, blaming her for Reg's amnesia. Gaburoon intervenes, shielding Riko and sustaining heavy damage. Nanachi and Belaf arrive, with Belaf allowing Faputa to kill him while imparting memories of Vueko and Irumyuui, urging her to find her own value. Confused by these new memories, Faputa allows Nanachi and the villagers to evacuate Riko. However, the village barrier is breached, allowing outside monsters to attack. Faputa tries to repel the beasts but is overwhelmed and left near death. Gaburoon sacrifices itself to protect her. As she lies dying, villagers feed her parts of themselves, transferring their value to enable her regeneration. Conflicted by this compassion from those she was meant to destroy, Faputa fully regenerates and returns to challenge the monsters.

Faputa defeats Irumyuui while Riko's group escapes after Wazukyan's death
Sep 28, 2022Faputa recalls her past with Gaburoon while battling monsters. Meanwhile, Riko, Reg, and Nanachi find the dying Wazukyan, who offers final wishes before passing. Faputa summons villagers to sacrifice themselves for power to kill Irumyuui. Majikaja and Maa ensure the group's escape by sacrificing themselves. Faputa destroys Irumyuui and the village. She later speaks with the dying Vueko, who learns her mother loved her. Vueko dies from the Curse. Reg invites Faputa to join their adventure, and she considers the offer.
