Ep. 9: Kid and Aoko face a trap involving fake jewels and a mysterious man's past.
A thief steals a jewel, photographs Kid disguised as Aoko, and delivers them to a man who left a note on the gem referencing a crime scene from 18 years ago. Confused by the clue, Kaito ignores it until Aoko receives a diner invitation as a contest winner. Suspecting a trap, Kaito and Akako investigate. Kaito disguises himself as Inspector Nakamori, unaware the antagonist mistakes the inspector for Kid, leading Kaito into a trap. At the exhibit, Aoko enters a car, triggering exhaust gas that knocks her unconscious. The mysterious man then forces Kaito to recall a story his mother told him about meeting his father. Kaito realizes the villain plans to sell counterfeit jewels for millions. With Aoko unconscious and surrounded by armed men, Kid faces a potentially fatal situation.
