Heiji reports the Anchor is four to five years old, matching the timeline of strange events on Onikame. The incidents began with the kidnapping of mayor's daughter Miyako Kenshiro, followed by a burglary a year later where burglars stole a byōbu and murdered a maid. The group searches the mayor's house and discovers evidence that Miyako lived there as a child. After securing the house, they wait for a boat. At night, a vessel crashes onto the pier. Investigation reveals it is their previous boat, with the captain beaten to death. The crew determines the boat was on autopilot and concludes the murderer is one of the four TV staff members present.
