Ep. 293: The Princess and Dragon King Palace: The Resolution on a Solitary Island

Conan and Heiji decipher ancient messages left by Miyako, realizing the culprit faked Tiara’s time of death. Heiji lures staff member Yoshitsuga Kume into a trap, revealing himself in disguise to expose Daito Mikihiko as the murderer. Heiji explains that Taira died later, and the sand message was protected from tides by water from a search boat. The deceased man was a robber from the Mayor’s house, with the dying message referencing the Urashima Tarō folklore, where Kō and Otsu symbolize the turtle and the stolen byōbu princess. Daito confesses to killing his fiancée, the maid, and stealing the artwork. He reveals Miyako, disguised as Tiara, faked her kidnapping to test her stepfather’s love, but stole the byōbu in vengeance when he refused to pay the ransom.
