Kogoro Mouri, accompanied by Ran and Conan, visits Orion Planning to meet Toshio Higashiyama. After dialing sectional number 423, they witness employee Fujihiko Takahata falling to his death. Police find a typed suicide note, but Conan observes an open window, a dry ledge spot, and a deflated theatrical prop on the body. He deduces the prop kept the body in place until it deflated, creating an alibi. Conan tranquilizes Kogoro and confronts the group, identifying Higashiyama as the culprit. Evidence includes an extension cord used to forge the alibi and a broken pen with an ink stain on Higashiyama’s collar. Higashiyama confesses, revealing Takahata had withheld payment from his brother via hidden contract addendums.
