Ep. 599: Conan and Ran encounter a pickpocket on a train before investigating a murder near Sugamo Station.
While riding a train, Conan and Ran are assisted by elderly man Tokuma Norizuki after a pickpocket incident. Near Sugamo Station, they discover the body of con artist Kanemura, who suffered a fatal head injury. Norizuki accuses Kanemura’s boss, Takehiko Kiriya, of the crime, though Kiriya denies involvement. Conan investigates Norizuki and learns his girlfriend, Mitsu, died due to a scam involving Kanemura, Kiriya, and Motegi. Ran prevents Norizuki from killing Motegi. Conan reveals Norizuki used a prepaid ticket to exit and re-enter Sugamo, creating an alibi while committing the murder and framing Kiriya. Detective Takagi finds the ticket with fingerprints. Norizuki confesses upon seeing Mitsu’s diary, which showed she forgave her scammers.
