Frustrated escapees begin deciphering the illusory forest as Porte, Chako, and Shingo interface gravity control with alien tech. Kaoru returns with urgent news that the group is close to breaking the illusion, requiring two or three more days for Porte. Kaoru, Bell, Luna, and Menori prepare traps to delay them. Meanwhile, a dejected Adam sneaks out to meet Pague, admitting he refuses Luna’s offer to return to their colony because this planet is his home. Sharla and Luna locate Adam with Pague, while the escapees spot Pague and plot to kill him for food. Kaoru reveals himself as a distraction, enabling Luna, Sharla, and Adam to flee. Although they escape, Brindo witnesses the children leaving and deduces the forest's secret.
