After escaping quicksand, the group endures a harsh desert crossing, walking at night to reach a forest. Tensions rise as Shingo blames himself for the Orion’s design and argues with Menori. Memories of Howard and Sharla comfort them before they enter a ruined city. Drones attack, prompting Luna and Kaoru to act as decoys. Shingo attempts to sacrifice himself, but Menori intervenes, slapping him for his despair. A drone attacks them in a sewer, but Howard’s mirror, worn by Shingo, distracts the machine, causing it to destroy itself. The group reunites and follows the sewer, which Chako identifies as the direct path to Survive’s buried spaceship, eventually reaching the vessel’s hull.
