Sasuke demands to know Itachi's location and attacks Tobi, who remains unharmed after the strike. Deidara retreats and launches C1 explosives, but Sasuke evades using a substitution jutsu. This forces Deidara to deploy the C2 Dragon, which, combined with Tobi's assistance, pressures Sasuke into activating his Curse Mark. Despite their coordinated assault, Sasuke overcomes their attacks. With his standard techniques exhausted, Deidara is compelled to unleash his ultimate secret weapon, the C4 Karura, a move originally intended for Itachi. This encounter occurs during the Itachi Pursuit Mission arc, specifically serving as the ninth installment of the twelve-part sequence.
