After noticing the explosion, Suigetsu summons Manda and realizes Sasuke used him to flee. Manda succumbs to his injuries, and Zetsu informs the remaining Akatsuki members about the deaths of Deidara and Tobi. Naruto and his companions arrive at the crater, where Kiba uses his tracking abilities to follow Sasuke's scent. Concurrently, the Akatsuki leader Pain and his partner Konan receive orders from a mysterious figure named Tobi to capture the Nine-Tailed Jinchuuriki. Tobi subsequently reveals his true identity as Madara Uchiha during this sequence of events.
