Naruto confronts Sasuke for attacking their teammate, but Sasuke scoffs that he is no longer part of Team 7. He states his goal is destroying the Leaf Village to absolve the Uchiha of past wrongdoings. Kakashi realizes the repeated hatred in Uchiha history has shaped Sasuke and resolves to handle him alone. Naruto deduces this and uses clones to restrain Kakashi while running at Sasuke with his Rasengan. The two clash similarly to the Final Valley, ending up in a metaphysical plain. There, Naruto reveals that although he was once alone, Iruka pulled him from the brink. He admits to being hesitant to approach Sasuke due to jealousy over his superior abilities, yet they bonded regardless.
