After his friends reunite, Naruto insists on handling Sasuke alone, keeping them unaware of recent events despite their annoyance. Guy challenges Kakashi to a final match, knowing it may be their last once Kakashi assumes the role of Hokage. While Kakashi, Shikaku, and the elders attend the conference to appoint the new leader, Tsunade regains consciousness.
