Duck feels guilty about her actions toward Myuuto and considers quitting her role as Princess Tutu, knowing this would strip her of her female form. Drosselmeyer halts time to prevent the story from freezing, but his encouragement backfires, causing Duck to discard her pendant and revert to a duck. Meanwhile, Myuuto wanders to the river, overwhelmed by new emotions, and the heart shard of curiosity pulls him underwater. Unable to save him in her current form, Duck retrieves her pendant to transform back into Princess Tutu. Myuuto confesses he wants her to stay and restore his heart. As Tutu prepares to restore his curiosity, the Raven Princess Kraehe suddenly steals it.
