Ep. 1: Fuu seeks help from Mugen and Jin after her restaurant is destroyed by the prefect's guards.

Intimidated by the village prefect's son, waitress Fuu asks warrior Mugen for protection. Meanwhile, ronin Jin defeats the prefect's assassins before fighting Mugen, who mistakes him for an enemy. The conflict escalates when a guard ignites the restaurant, burning it to the ground. Both fighters are knocked unconscious by coal gas and arrested by local authorities. Sentenced to death, they manage to escape execution with Fuu's assistance. Following their release, Fuu requests that Mugen and Jin accompany her on a journey to locate a mysterious man who carries the scent of sunflowers.
