United Mankind troops refuse to withdraw from Sufugnoff space despite the Abh fleet's display of power. On the surface, the search for Jinto and Lafiel is hindered by occupation forces hunting survivors of a destroyed ship. Police officers enter their apartment but are quickly disarmed by Lafiel, who forces them to reveal they are freedom fighters demanding space trading and exploration rights. She agrees to become a hostage under specific conditions. Simultaneously, the Abh fleet launches an assault to retake control of the Sufugnoff region, escalating the conflict between the opposing sides in this contested area.
