Ep. 16: Sunako reveals her past while Tanaka faces family rejection and Akira prepares for war.

Sunako recalls her origin story, revealing she was hidden by her family and later found them gone. She shares this with Toru, who fears her summons. Meanwhile, Nao vows revenge on happy families. Tanaka, newly risen, is blamed by Megumi for his condition and told to hunt his own kin. He returns home to find his wife terrified and rejects him, leading him to feed on her. Kaori and Akira discover this betrayal. Akira, armed with stakes, seeks to destroy the shiki. He infiltrates a house where Natsuno discusses exterminating all shiki with Toshio. Akira attempts to kill a sleeping shiki but is stopped by Tatsumi. The episode concludes with Akira bound and gagged before the awakened shiki.
