Ep. 14: Megumi informs Kaori of her father's death while Toshio experiments on Kyoko to find okiagari weaknesses.

Megumi visits Kaori at night to reveal that her father has died. Kaori and Akira's mother contact the Ebuchi Clinic, where the doctor, an okiagari, arrives and requests entry. Natsuno does not return as an okiagari and is cremated instead. The narrative reveals that missing persons serve as food for weak or newly risen okiagari. Seishin suspects his father knows they cause the village's troubles after finding a greeting letter for the Kirishikis. Kyoko dies from illness and revives as an okiagari. Toshio uses her as a test subject to record a video on repelling them. He finds they fear religious icons, heal rapidly, and can only be killed by severing blood flow via beheading or heart destruction. Toshio stakes Kyoko's heart before Seishin arrives to witness the bloody scene.
