Ep. 20: Saki escapes an Ogre attack and assumes leadership of the Ethics Committee in a devastated village.
Aired on February 16, 2013

Saki and Satoru flee a boat before an Ogre destroys it, then encounter a self-destructing mutant fish that separates them. Saki experiences a fragmented flashback involving Shun while airborne, then survives an attack by flying boulders launched by a boy who mistook her for a Monster Rat. They reach a village in ruins, where canals have been drained to block the fish, possibly by Yakomaru. Saki finds an injured Tomiko, who dismisses the Ogre threat and insists Saki warn the Security Council. Tomiko formally transfers command of the Ethics Committee to Saki, declaring it her duty to protect the town. Despite Saki’s protests, Tomiko orders her to leave, and Saki departs the hospital to fulfill her new responsibilities.
