Ep. 13: Maka and Soul struggle with diverging wavelengths while fighting Free the immortal werewolf in London.

Stein subjects Maka and Soul to emotional stimulant training that exposes their flaws, causing an argument that threatens their resonance. They later attend a supplementary class in London with Black Star and Tsubaki, where they encounter Free, an immortal werewolf released from Witch Prison by Eruka for Medusa. During a battle on a suspension bridge, Black Star collapses after using Tsubaki's Enchanted Sword mode, leaving Maka and Soul to fight alone. Their diverging soul wavelengths cause Soul to burn Maka's hands in weapon form, rendering him difficult to control. Tsubaki persuades them to reconcile, restoring their resonance but intensifying the madness of Soul's black blood. Maka defeats Free with her Witch Hunter, aided by the revived Black Star. Afterward, Maka coughs black blood into her hand.
