Black Star and Kid discover Excalibur, a Holy Sword rumored to grant eternal glory, but they abandon it due to his unbearable personality. Meanwhile, Death Scythe attempts to comfort Maka, who remains concerned about Soul. He reveals that the Demon Sword consumes human souls and threatens to become a kishin, a catastrophic transformation that motivated the founding of the DWMA to prevent such an event from occurring.
