Eibon, seeking to repent for aiding Arachne, uses a soul-key to activate Brew. This magic tool grants the user's desires. Lord Death uses Brew to transform Death City into a giant robot to fight for others. The mobile castle battles the city, but Death City breaches it, extracts Asura, and consumes him, seemingly trapping him inside.

Mar 9, 2009Asura is consumed by Death City and arrives in the Death Room to face Lord Death and Death Scythe. Elsewhere, Black Star, Tsubaki, and an injured Mifune locate Angela within Baba Yaga's Castle. During the confrontation, Asura argues that fear stems from human imagination and intends to eliminate it by spreading madness. Lord Death opposes this, asserting his role as the world's guardian. The battle turns when Asura attacks Kid and Azusa with Vajra, forcing Lord Death to shield them and sustain severe injuries. Excalibur confronts Asura, who then experiences spasms and retreats to Arachne. In a final act driven by fear of her, Asura murders and devours Arachne's soul.

Outside, Crona recovers, Justin persuades Giriko to retreat, and the remaining allies wait anxiously for the trio's success.

Mar 23, 2009Outside the barrier, Death Scythe recovers as Black Star and Kid struggle against Asura. Kid attempts to charge up to avenge his father but is stabbed and collapses. His Sanzu Lines activate, powering his Death Cannon with intense blue light. Asura is distracted, allowing Black Star to knock him down for Kid’s counterattack, though Kid subsequently faints and Asura returns to normal size. Meanwhile, Maka is trapped with a figure claiming to be Soul, who insists he sealed himself to contain madness. Recognizing the imposter as Little Demon, Maka opens a locked box to save the real Soul from black blood. The demon shrinks, and Soul consumes him, accepting the darkness. The pair return to find everyone unconscious and Asura still standing.

Mar 30, 2009Maka and Soul remain against Asura, who easily shatters Maka’s upgraded Kishin Hunter attack. Maka takes a hit to protect Soul, but her weapon blood awakens to continue fighting. Asura defeats her again, forcing her to wake through pain. Crona explains that Maka’s true strength lies in her heart, not technique, as Lord Death recovers. When Asura claims Maka has no hope, she and her recovering allies declare that true strength comes from bravery. Asura, unable to understand bravery, succumbs to fear. He weakly tries to deny Maka’s advance, but she punches him in the face. Realizing bravery resembles madness, Asura explodes, cleansing the world of his madness. Kid fears another kishin’s rebirth, but Maka remains confident that everyone possesses bravery in their hearts.
