Okabe travels back to confront the badge maker, discovering it is Daru, who created a fake badge to cheer up Suzuha. Daru explains that Suzuha’s machine only moves backward, preventing future meetings. Mayuri deduces Daru is Suzuha’s father from the machine’s name. Suzuha departs for 1975, but the Divergence Meter remains unchanged. Mr. Braun delivers a letter from 2000 revealing Suzuha’s suicide and memory loss due to machine damage. Blaming himself, Okabe sends a D-Mail to prevent stopping her, allowing her to use the undamaged machine. In the new world line, Suzuha dies of illness, leaving the meter. Okabe returns home to find Mayuri alive, noting a slight divergence shift.
