Ep. 18: Okabe and Ruka navigate an awkward date while reversing D-Mail to alter fate.

Okabe informs Ruka that she was formerly male and urges her to reverse a D-Mail to change Mayuri's fate. Ruka agrees only if Okabe takes her on a date. Despite advice from Kurisu and Daru, their evening is marked by awkward conversation. Ruka recalls her previous male existence, which distresses her because returning to that state would prevent her from pursuing feelings for Okabe. Okabe realizes the date failed because he was not being himself. He returns to the shrine where Ruka asks him to remember her as a girl. Okabe replies that she will always be his student. With their relationship repaired, Okabe sends the text, shifting the world line so Ruka is male again, leaving Moeka's D-Mail to be reversed next.
