Tokyo Mew Mew

A girl named Ichigo experiences a strange incident during her first date with a popular classmate when she is struck by an unknown ray that alters her DNA by fusing it with that of the Iriomote wildcat. The following day, she notices she has gained feline traits, including agility, and can transform into a superheroine called Mew Ichigo. She joins four other girls, each infused with the genetic material of a different endangered species listed in the Red Data, in a confidential initiative called the Mew Project. Their mission is to defend Earth from a threat from outer space referred to as Deep Blue.
