Ep. 58: Vince and Mutta discuss spaceflight views while Pico recalls childhood dreams with Rick
Aired on May 18, 2013

During a car ride, Vince expresses disdain for astronomers, accusing them of snobbery toward manned spaceflight. When asked for his own perspective, Mutta identifies himself as his greatest enemy, crediting Sharon for helping him realize this truth. Later at a bar, Pico joins them, and Mutta’s comment on earnest failures prompts a discussion about their childhood friend, Rick, with whom they used to build rockets. The group recalls their time at age fifteen, when they faced pressure to abandon their aspirations and become coal miners in their hometown. However, witnessing Brian ride the International Space Station inspired them to reaffirm their dreams and pursue their original goals rather than settling for a conventional life.
