Survivors attempt to determine how Eva and Hideyoshi died when a strange odor fills the mansion. Kanon investigates the boiler room with Kumasawa and is fatally impaled by a flying stake. The group finds Kanon dying and Kinzo's charred body, then retreats to Kinzo's study. A mysterious letter from Beatrice appears inside. Natsuhi suspects only Genji, Nanjo, Kumasawa, or Maria planted it and forces them to leave. Later, a phone call features Maria singing. Natsuhi, Battler, George, and Jessica rush downstairs to find the disfigured corpses of Genji, Nanjo, and Kumasawa, while Maria continues singing in the corner.
