However, Eva Beatrice summons the more powerful Chiester Sisters, who successfully kill the couple. Hideyoshi attempts to confront Eva Beatrice but is also killed. Beatrice reprimands Eva Beatrice for ignoring her advice, leading to a revelation that Eva Beatrice knows Beatrice’s dignified act is merely a strategy to regain Battler's favor in Purgatory. Battler agrees to continue the game with Beatrice to make progress, though he refuses to forgive her. Meanwhile, Virgilia meets with Beatrice, encouraging her to adopt a more passive approach to help Battler accept witches.

Gohda and Kumasawa, having escaped the massacre, inform the cousins in the guesthouse about these events after receiving a phone call from the hostages instructing them to remain inside until Kinzo prepares to test his grandchildren for the family headship.

Declaring Battler unqualified, she reveals his mother was not Asumu and he is not Kinzo’s grandson. Battler questions his identity and fades away. Beatrice leaves with Maria for the Golden Land.
