Emma utilizes her secondary mutation to defend against Kick, allowing the X-Men to defeat him. Hisako rejoins her family but subsequently travels with Emma and the team toward New York. During the journey, they encounter a mutant from the U-Men's laboratory who exhibits the same condition as Emma. Upon arriving at Beast's laboratory, the boy dies, and the cause is identified as Damon-Hall Syndrome, which poses no threat to Emma. Meanwhile, Xavier suspects that ongoing events in Touhoku are responsible for triggering these mutations.
