Ep. 5: Hachiman confronts Yui's past after the club helps Saki Kawasaki with her secret night job.

Shizuka reprimands Hachiman for arriving late after school. He visits a cafe where he encounters Yui, Yukino, and Saika, soon joined by Komachi and her friend Taishi Kawasaki. Taishi expresses worry about his sister Saki’s late-night activities, prompting the Service Club to investigate. Their initial attempts to approach Saki fail, but Komachi reveals she works nights at a cafe. The group tracks Saki to a bar in a high-class hotel in Chiba. Tensions rise when Yukino discovers Saki lied about her age to get hired. The club leaves, but Saki meets them the next morning to explain she is saving for college. Komachi advises against worrying Taishi, and Hachiman suggests a scholarship. Finally, Komachi reveals Yui owned the dog Hachiman saved in a car accident. Believing Yui’s kindness stems from guilt, Hachiman ends their relationship during the field trip.
