During summer camp, Shizuka organizes a courage test and bonfire. Rumi joins Hachiman by the river, where he discusses fading childhood friendships. She admits to abandoning past attempts at reciprocity. Hachiman suggests the Soubu group fabricate conflict among peers who exclude Rumi, aiming to expose their true loyalties and shift attention away from her. The scheme succeeds during the event, causing the group to fracture. However, Rumi dramatically saves the girls, altering the outcome. Later, the Soubu members acknowledge that Hachiman’s plan facilitated their separation, slightly improving Rumi’s social standing. The camp concludes the following day. When Haruno arrives to collect Yukino, Yui and Hachiman identify the vehicle as the limousine involved in Hachiman’s past accident.
