College students Nanako and Miyama talk about Issun Boushi, a being that grants wishes to those who catch it. Miyama jokes that their friend Niimi should catch the creature to wish for a girlfriend. Later, Niimi chases a small shadow into a garden but finds only a splatter on his shoe. The following day, he experiences severe stomach pain and a painful bulge on his side. Issun Boushi appears, threatening to continue the assault until Niimi punishes Miyama for spreading rumors. As the creature attacks Niimi’s body, Miyama enters the restroom. Reluctantly, Niimi prepares to obey the demands. He then exits to find Nanako, as Issun Boushi also wants her punished for laughing at him. Niimi apologizes to Nanako under duress.
