Jan 11, 2021Several teenagers break into a deserted home to explore local legends regarding missing residents and those who desired the property's demolition. They proceed to the upper floor, specifically the bedroom of the youngest child, which is reputed to be the most haunted location. The group begins a party in the room. A diary falls open to a page mentioning a handkerchief game. Shizuka discovers a pink handkerchief behind Takaaki. When the candle extinguishes and Shinji illuminates the area with his phone, Takaaki has vanished. The handkerchief reappears behind Kyouko. As Shinji’s light flickers, Kyouko disappears. Shinji assumes this is a trick, but Shizuka finds the handkerchief behind herself. Panicking, she throws it at Shinji, who also vanishes when the light flickers again. Shizuka remains alone as her phone battery dies. A child’s voice declares, "Now you're it," and the handkerchief turns red.

The laughter intensifies at the front door, prompting him to check the peephole. His parents intervene, and his father looks outside, reporting no one is there. He then scolds his son while beginning to laugh loudly and uncontrollably. His mother soon joins in the hysterical laughter. The eerie sound of the old woman continues to echo under the full moon, leaving the boy unsettled by the inexplicable events unfolding within his own home.

Sakakibara’s wife then calls in a panic, reporting that Sakakibara has acted strangely since eating their catch. The call abruptly disconnects. As the creature attacks Niimi’s body, Miyama enters the restroom. Reluctantly, Niimi prepares to obey the demands. He then exits to find Nanako, as Issun Boushi also wants her punished for laughing at him. Niimi apologizes to Nanako under duress.

The following day, she returns to the park and the desert vision, where Makiko’s voice asks if she wants to go far away before Saki falls into the pit. At the bottom, an emaciated Makiko invites her to join. Meanwhile, a young man seeking directions finds the same park off his map. He sees people in the desert who reveal emaciated faces and laugh as he begins sinking into the sand.

Kouichi spots the man in the suit, causing him to nearly get hit by a car. Near the school, he lashes out at his friends, accusing them of watching him to ogle at the curse, though they deny it. He then sees a huge mob gathering and chanting "Get cursed." Panicked, he flees and is slowly surrounded by people who want him cursed, including the man in the suit with glowing eyes. He runs until he falls down a long flight of stairs. On the ground below, next to his lifeless body, the detached head of the statue rolls toward Kouichi's corpse with an expression of utter delight and glowing eyes.

He hides the device, but later hears it ringing at night. Moeka hands him the cup, and Yukari’s voice demands he leave them alone. After he slams the cup, the voice laughs. His family eventually abandons him due to his madness, leaving his apartment filled with trash. He follows the string to a closet, finding only the other cup grasped by a shadow hand.
