Ep. 10: Louise and Saito retrieve a letter for Princess Henrietta while Wardes arrives as her fiancé.
Louise and Saito receive a mission to recover an indiscreet letter Princess Henrietta wrote to Prince Wales of Albion, which is necessary to prevent the cancellation of her wedding to the Emperor of Germania. Since Albion is in civil war, the princess cannot meet the prince directly. Guiche overhears the request and volunteers to help, angering Louise and Saito. Before departing, Saito learns from Colbert about Gandálfr, legendary Void magic, and a dragon story. Their escort, Wardes, captain of the griffin squadron, joins them. He is revealed to be Louise's fiancé, causing Saito jealousy. During the journey to La Rochelle, Derflinger explains to Saito that only Gandálfr can wield him. At dinner, Wardes proposes to Louise and challenges Saito to a spar, winning easily and mocking Saito's vow to protect Louise, leaving him dejected.
