Yuki no Touge, Tsurugi no Mai

During the late Sengoku period, the Satake clan is forced to relocate from Hitachi-no-kuni to Dewa-no-kuni following their defeat at Sekigahara. The clan's leader, Yoshinobu Satake, favors the opinions of younger vassals over those of his senior retainers, leading to internal conflict as the experienced vassals resist and plot to protect their status. Meanwhile, in another part of the Sengoku period, Haruna, a farmer's daughter, survives an attack by rogue warriors who kill her family and assault her. Using money from stolen Go stones, she enrolls in the dojo of Nobutsuna Kamiizumi to train in swordsmanship for revenge. There, she is taken under the guidance of Bungorou Hikita, one of Kamiizumi's apprentices, who teaches her with the newly developed shinai.
